Manila, November 2nd (Reporters Yuan Mengchen and Yang Ke) Philippine officials said on the 2nd,This year, the 19th typhoon “Swan” has caused at least 10 deaths and 3 missing in the country.The “swan” has basically ended its influence on the Philippines.
Ricardo Gerrard, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee of the Philippines, said,The dead were mainly concentrated in the southern part of Luzon Island, which was severely affected.At present, relevant departments are doing their best to rescue the disaster and search for missing persons.
The Philippine Meteorological Administration said,”Swan” developed into a super typhoon at around 2 a.m. local time on November 1.It made landfall on the southeast coast of Luzon Island that same day.After landing, the “Swan” crossed the southern part of Luzon,Then its strength gradually weakened.On the morning of the 2nd, “Swan” has basically ended its influence on the Philippines.
Typhoon “Swan” brought heavy rainfall to the southern and central areas of Luzon in the area where the Philippines passed.It also caused landslides, mudslides and floods in many places.According to figures released by the Philippine National Disaster Reduction Management Committee,About 2.06 million people in the Philippines were affected by the disaster.About 390,000 people were transferred to temporary shelters.At present, disasters such as house collapse, power and water interruption, damage to farmland and roads and bridges have occurred in many places in southern and central Luzon.Preliminary statistics,The direct economic losses caused by the “swan” to the country amounted to 1.1 billion pesos (about 1.500 million yuan).
According to the Philippine Meteorological Bureau,This year’s No. 20 Typhoon “Aishani” will affect the Philippines later this week.
