China decides to impose sanctions on U.S. companies, individuals and entities involved in arms sales to Taiwan
Our newspaper, Beijing, October 26th (Reporter Wang Xiaobo) In response to the US State Department’s previous approval to sell weapons and equipment to Taiwan totaling approximately US$1.8 billion,Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on the 26th,In order to safeguard national interests,China decided to take necessary measures,For American companies such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing Defense, and Raytheon that participated in the arms sales to Taiwan,And relevant U.S. individuals and entities that played a bad role in selling weapons to Taiwan imposed sanctions.
Zhao Lijian made the above statement at a regular press conference that day.He said,The US sales of weapons and equipment to the Taiwan region seriously violate the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US joint communiqués.Serious damage to China’s sovereignty and security interests.China firmly opposes this and strongly condemns it.
”China once again urges the United States to abide by its commitment to the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US joint communiqués.Stop arms sales to Taiwan and any military contacts between the United States and Taiwan.We will continue to take necessary measures,Defend national sovereignty and security interests.”He said.
